A Few Things You Might Be Wondering

Planning a wedding comes with a lot of questions, and choosing your photographer is an important part of that process. I've put together some answers to help you understand how I work, what you can expect, and what it's like having me there to photograph your day. If you have a question that isn't covered here, please don't hesitate to reach out!

 

How many weddings do you photograph each year?

I intentionally keep my wedding schedule manageable so I can give each couple the time and attention they deserve. I want to be able to get to know you, understand what matters most to you, and put care into documenting your wedding day. My goal isn't to book as many weddings as possible; it's to give each couple a thoughtful and personal experience.

 

What does wedding photography cost?

Wedding photography pricing depends on how much coverage you need and what you'd like documented throughout your day. I offer different coverage options to accommodate different wedding plans, from smaller, intimate ceremonies to celebrations that need more time.

I believe it's important to understand what you're paying for and what is included before making a decision. If you're interested in having me photograph your wedding, reach out and we can talk about your plans and find the coverage that makes the most sense for you.

Do you offer wedding videography or cinematic highlight films?

My primary focus is photography, allowing me to concentrate on documenting the details, emotions, and moments that make your wedding yours. I don't currently offer cinematic wedding films as part of my photography services.

If having video of your wedding is important to you, I encourage you to consider hiring a professional videographer alongside your photography coverage.

Do you offer wedding content creation?

At this time, my focus is on photography rather than a separate wedding content creation service. If you would like behind-the-scenes videos or short-form content to share soon after your wedding, a dedicated content creator may be a great addition to your vendor team.

 

What kinds of couples are the best fit for my photography?

I love working with couples who want their wedding photographs to reflect who they really are. You don't have to know how to pose, be comfortable in front of a camera, or have every detail figured out before we work together.

Whether your wedding is a small gathering with your closest family or a larger celebration filled with friends, what matters most to me is documenting the day in a way that feels personal to you. I want you to be able to enjoy your wedding rather than feel like you're spending the entire day posing for pictures.

How many photographs will we receive?

The number of images you receive depends on your wedding's length, schedule, and the events taking place throughout the day. A smaller ceremony will naturally have a different gallery than a wedding with several hours of getting ready, a ceremony, formal photographs, and a reception.

Rather than promising the same number of images for every wedding, my goal is to deliver a carefully edited collection that tells the story of your day. Every wedding is different, and I want your gallery to reflect the moments that made yours special.

Do you have backup equipment in case something goes wrong?

I take the responsibility of photographing your wedding seriously, and preparation is an important part of that. Unexpected things can happen, which is why I plan ahead and include a second photographer in every wedding package.

Having a second photographer means there's another professional documenting your day, with the opportunity to photograph moments from a different perspective. It also provides an additional layer of support should an unexpected equipment issue arise. My goal is to be prepared so you can focus on celebrating rather than worrying about what's happening behind the camera.

What does a typical wedding day look like when you're photographing it?

Every wedding has its own schedule, so I work with you beforehand to understand what you've planned and which moments are most important to you.

Depending on your coverage, the day may begin with getting-ready photographs and the details you've carefully chosen. From there, I document the ceremony, wedding party photographs, and the other important parts of your celebration included in your coverage.

I help organize wedding party photographs so we can make the most of our time without keeping everyone away from the celebration longer than necessary. We'll also discuss any family photographs you'd like ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.

Throughout the day, I pay attention to the moments happening around you, from the excitement before the ceremony to the reactions, laughter, and unexpected interactions you may not even notice in the moment. I want you to have time to enjoy your wedding while knowing that the important parts are being documented.

Can we hire a videographer if you're our photographer?

Absolutely! Hiring a videographer is completely fine. Photography and videography can work beautifully together, and I welcome other professionals who are there to help document your wedding.

Communication and cooperation between vendors can make a real difference in how smoothly the day runs. I believe everyone should have the opportunity to do their job well while keeping the couple's experience at the center of everything.

Can you recommend other wedding vendors?

I'm happy to help where I can! If you're looking for a videographer, florist, hair and makeup artist, or another wedding professional, feel free to ask me. I'll gladly share recommendations when I have someone suitable to suggest.

Choosing your vendors can feel overwhelming, especially when you're trying to bring all the pieces of your wedding together. Sometimes a little guidance can make the process easier.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes, I'm happy to discuss wedding photography outside my immediate area. I'm based in the Binghamton, New York area, and travel arrangements will depend on your wedding location.

What happens if you become sick or have an emergency on our wedding day?

I understand that this is an important concern when choosing a wedding photographer. Your wedding date is something that can't simply be repeated, and I take that responsibility seriously.

Although I plan ahead to help avoid unexpected problems, emergencies can happen to anyone. In the event that an unforeseen circumstance prevents me from attending, I would communicate with you as soon as possible and work to arrange a qualified replacement photographer if one is available.

The specific arrangements and limitations for an emergency are addressed in the wedding contract, so you'll have an opportunity to understand those terms before booking.

How long will it take to receive our wedding photographs?

My goal is to deliver your wedding gallery within six weeks for a typical six-hour wedding, although the time needed can vary depending on the length and complexity of your coverage.

After your wedding, I go through the images, select the photographs that best tell your story, and edit the final collection. This is an important part of the process because I want your finished gallery to feel cohesive and reflect the day as a whole.

Your contracted delivery timeline will clarify when you can expect your photographs. I know how exciting it is to see your wedding images, and I want you to have something beautiful to look back on and share with the people you love.

How would you describe your photography style?

My approach combines natural moments with gentle guidance when it's needed. I love photographs that show real expressions, genuine connections, and the little interactions that make a wedding day personal.

When it's time for formal photographs, I'll help guide you through the process so you aren't left wondering what to do. But I also leave room for natural movement and interaction rather than making every image feel overly posed.

I want your photographs to show more than what everyone looked like. I want them to bring back the feeling of being there: the anticipation, the happy tears, the laughter, and the people who shared the day with you.

My editing style is guided by the light, colors, and atmosphere of each wedding. Above all, I want your photographs to feel personal to you and meaningful when you look back on them years from now.

Are engagement sessions included with your wedding package?

Engagement sessions are a wonderful way to become more comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day. They're also an opportunity for us to get to know each other and learn what feels natural for you as a couple.

Whether you're comfortable having your photograph taken or feel a little awkward at first, there's no need to worry. I'll help guide you throughout the session, and we can take our time getting you comfortable.

Engagement sessions are not automatically included in every wedding package, but we can discuss adding one to your coverage if you'd like. It's a great opportunity to get some photographs together before the wedding and become familiar with the photography experience.

What if we're awkward in front of the camera?

You are certainly not alone! Many couples tell me they don't know how to pose or feel a little uncomfortable having their photographs taken. That's completely okay, and you don't need any photography experience to have a great session.

I'll offer direction when you need it and help you find ways to interact naturally with each other. You don't have to perform for the camera or try to look like someone else. Being yourselves is more than enough.

My goal is to make the experience comfortable, relaxed, and enjoyable, so you can spend less time worrying about how you look and more time enjoying the person you're standing beside.

Do you photograph family and wedding party portraits?

Yes! Wedding party photographs are an important part of many wedding days, and I help organize these photographs so we can work efficiently and keep the schedule moving.

We can discuss the family groupings you'd like ahead of time as well. Having a plan helps us make the best use of the time available, especially when there are several people you'd like photographed together.

I recommend deciding on your must-have group photographs before the wedding so everyone knows where they need to be. That way, we can spend less time organizing people and more time celebrating with you.

What should we do if we have more questions?
